spoken to, vitals were stable... he was making improvements. They finally talked the dad into making the decision to have the ventilator turned off and he did. The child continues to breath on his own and days have passed and the dad ask what now, and they said to him, he will starve to death because the fluids have been stopped and the feeding tube has been removed. So basically the child is now being starved to death.

Also one of the PICCU nurses said if we continue

to give positive encouragement to the other side of the family members (the one who is power of attorney) about him living through this we need to leave the room. My advice to Christian family’s, is to NOT bring your child here.. they have no faith in GOD and discourage hope and faith.

Despite of all the negative comments by the staff, the mothers side of the family still has hope and has been praying for this child’s recovery.

This is absolutely ridiculous I showed up at about midnight with me my girlfriend my 3 month old daughter and our 3 year old son I got off of work late so this was the only time we were able to go. I was there until about 4:15am no one came to talk to us no one told us when a doctor would be coming in when they FINALLY got us into a room they came in asked a question or two then left. Never to be seen from or heard of again. We then proceeded to wait there for another hour and a half no one coming by to talk to us tell is when any doctor would be coming anything all we could here was them sitting there laughing talking about personal business and bullshitting. When I went out to ask when the doctor would be coming in they first said they had no idea then said they would be in real soon. 30 minutes passed and we all got up and walked out. I went because my 3 month old daughter was feeling sick and I no idea what to do. This was absolute waste of my time. I showed up here because I thought cooks would help my child. All they did was stick us in a room (after having us sit and wait a couple of hours) and then forgetting about us. Absolutely a waste of my time. Thanks for nothing cooks I'm glad your staff seems to care SO MUCH about your patients.

there was no compassion at all for the family. Then after the fourth day they encourage the dad to take him off the ventilator and just let him pass even though he was squeezing our hands when

WORST experience EVER!!!! My 6yr old nephew was flown to Cooks Hospital and had some brain injuries and the first night he arrived there, the staff said we needed to say our good byes he’s going to die tonight. He didn’t pass that night but

My daughter and I were exposed to a rare bacterial disease and were advised to get checked out. My daughter's primary doctor couldn't see her today, so took her to ER, as recommended. The triage nurse asked me what was wrong, I told her and she looked at me like I was stupid and spoke to me with insensitivity and irritation. I understand that this isn't exactly a heard of disease but she was looking and talking to me like I made up the word. I said, "Her pediatrician recommended urgent care or the ER." And she said, and I quote, "Urgent care is on [insert street here]. You're in the emergency room." I just ignored her at this point and then checked my daughter in. The rest of the nurses we encountered were nice, however whenever we got to our room and met with the doctor, they refused to do anything because my daughter "looked" fine. I didn't expect her to get medication for this, just some blood work like I was able to do at my own primary doctor's office two hours later. My doctor, by the way, was thoroughly surprised that Cook's didn't have my daughter blood tested for something that has the potential to be fatal, especially with someone so young.

Absolutely the best. My newborn was flown to Cook at a day old with a heart defect by the time I arrived by car they had already done all the test and had a diagnosis and a plan to save my babies life which is amazing. The Doctors and Nurses in the NICU are absolutely amazing always explained everything they were doing to my baby and always asked if i had any questions or concerns. To the cardiac surgeon Dr.Tam he is amazing. Thank you for saving my baby boys life. I am eternally grateful.

My child was transfer from another hospital to this hospital and was a nightmare for us. This hospital liked to play a role of court system and CPS system they violated your right as a father and they don't respect your role as a single father, also they criticized my parenting skills whiout no reason. They don't have MD just inexpect RN and nurses. During our stay they showed up to my daughter room and told me she is in the "borderline of Q-T longed interval" and they told me many times to take that diagnosed seriously and bring my daughter to the cardiologist, when they discharged my daughter they stated everything is fine and they told me I misunderstood what they said to me. I can't imagine how they deal with serious emergency situation when they can't figure out how to read a electrocardiogram test.

I felt disappointed, frustrated, criticized, humiliated and discriminated. Was the 4 worse day of my life.

As of 8/24, my daughter's regular pediatrician was able to see her and immediately sent her for blood work and a prescription for antibiotics. She also did not understand why Cook's did nothing.
