I've had countless issues with this facility, but I'm finally done. We've tolerated them because of the convenient location. They also have an extremely rude receptionist. The groomer who works for them had clipped my dog's ear during grooming, therefore didn't get paid for the service, and decided to lie about a conversation that never happened. He had to be seen by a vet because of the incident. Then when I took him for boarding the next day, they wanted to charge me to administer his medication... medication that he had to receive for their mistake! The fact that the Animal Hospital puts up with her unprofessionalism should tell you a lot about their own services.
Every time I take my fur babies to Summerfields Animal Hospital, I am made to feel as if they are the most important patients there. I know how much I love them, but to see the technicians and doctors treat them as if they were their own tells me that I have made the best choice of doctors office for my pets. I would recommend to anyone to make this their vet of choice. Care and consideration cannot be bought, it comes from a true love and caring for what they do and who they care for. I have never seen anyone not cared for ... and not just the patients but also the patient parents.
I brought my dog into this vet and was informed that my dog needed surgery to drain the infected area. They asked for a deposit of $900.00. I proceeded to pay in the same manner I had always paid before via a credit card on the phone. They told me that could not handle payment this way despite the fact that the vet said the spot could rupture and I would need to take her to an emergency vet. I asked Veronica, the receptionist, when the policy had changed and she informed me that it had always been their policy. I told her that I had paid this way in the past and she said that I had probably scared or intimated one of their employees into handling this way. This was said in front of customers. I also offered to pay part of the final bill ($1,000.00) in cash and the rest via credit card and this was refused as well. I talked to the vet and she seemed unconcerned. I had to leave with my dog untreated. I don't plan to ever use this vet again.
We are new to Summerfields Animal Hospital. Initially we went there because our dog Jade needed to be euthanized It was getting late and she was getting worse. They were open late, a real convenience , They couldn't have been nicer, professional and sympathetic for our needs. We recently adopted a blind Mastiff we decided to Take him there. We discovered the same caring, professional atmosphere. They don't try to sell you extra procedures and there pricing is very reasonable. Without reservations My wife and I recommend this Veterinary Clinic.
I usually saw Dr Kaitlyn for my Sr Border collie. My dog loved her. I was sad when we finally had to put her down and Dr Kaitlyn was not there to do it. But Dr Karen was there and she was very compassionate in helping us make that very difficult decision. I also take my rabbit there , and I wouldn't think of going anywhere else. I had used the same vet for 20 years, and never got the kind of care I received with Dr's Metzler . I wish I had switched sooner... I might have had my sweet girl a little longer . I would highly recommend them if you want your pet to be treated like they are loved.
