WOW! What a fantastic vet. Every single person who works at this office truly cares about the animals and their owners. My dog couldn't be happier to go to the vet (really - he starts bouncing off the car's walls with joy when he realizes where he's going). They are always quick, thorough, knowledgeable, and friendly. My dog is known by name and greeted by everyone as soon as we walk in. The hours are fantastic and it is easy to get your pet in the same day if there is a problem. I know my dog is in good hands and I also feel very respected. The cost is very reasonable, especially for the level of care and attention your pet gets. Highly recommend!
Great service, quick, good advice and reasonable pricing.
I LOVE Dr. Mellina and the other doctors. The staff is friendly, caring and knowledgeable. I have 3 dogs and 3 cats. My oldest cat is 18 1/2 years old and she would not have made it this long with out Dr. Mellina's caring and expertise. My oldest dog is 14 and needs very special attention due to her EXTREME fear of the vet. They handle all of my very specific requests with grace and compassion. I couldn't recommend them more.
I would not recommend this vet. I got a puppy in August and chose Mellina because of how close it was to where I lived. When I got my puppy spayed, I told the vet that I wanted to come pick her up (it is routine for them to always keep dogs that get spayed or neutered overnight) because they lock the dogs up when they leave the office at about 530pm. One person comes to check on them at 10pm, and then they are left there alone until 6am. As a dog owner, this made me uneasy knowing my puppy would be locked alone in a vets office and I would have no access to her! I told them I wanted to pick her up and they noted on my file that they would call me once she is up from surgery to discuss coming to get her. Not only did they not call me after her surgery to let me know how she was, by the time I thought something was weird and called them, they had all left the office, 30 minutes before they said they would be gone. I had no report of how my puppy was after surgery AND I did not have the option to pick her up until 7am the next morning. After this situation, I also found out that they had missed a vaccination for her. I was told by their staff that my puppy was up to date on shots and good to go. Then when I went in for her check up after getting spayed, they told me she is missing a vaccine and that I should have had it done by now. Next, they proceeded to tell me that my puppy was underweight and that I was not feeding her enough, when I had in writing how much I needed to be feeding her from the vet. I had asked every time I went in how much to feed her and explained that she was scarfing her food down and they told me she was fine. Come to find out, she wasn't, and that she was quite underweight. They also forgot to take a stitch out from her spay, I had noticed it wasn't healing properly and took her in again. To some, this all may not seem to be a big deal, but I am extremely displeased with their treatment and lack of attention towards my dog. Their heads are in the clouds and they obviously don't keep track of things. If you're considering Mellina, I would look into others first!!
Nice and honest doctors that take great care of our pets.
