HIGHLY recommend Dr. Rainier, especially if you're younger or just have a lot of questions. Front desk people, however, are hit or miss. The ones that are sweet are really sweet, but have encountered one or two that are almost surprisingly rude or condescending. Also, they don't seem to keep great files as I've probably verified my phone number and insurance 10 times. Every visit feels like the first one.
I love that the practice is adjacent to Harris Southwest. It is easy to find and has lots of parking. The waiting area is clean and comfortable with a play area for small children. I am in a power wheelchair and all of the halls are nice and wide. They have always accommodated my needs.
Dr. Rainer is simply amazing!!! I'm so thankful that I was under her care for my pregnancy. Her nurse Kristy is always professional, efficient, and helpful as well. Highly recommend!!!!
My doctor is Dr. Ryan and he is wonderful. He has always made me feel as comfortable as possible. He is a very good doctor with a great bedside manner.
While Dr. Howell was nice while I was pregnant, the delivery was an awful experience. When I was in the delivery room, pushing, and Dr Rainier (who was sweet) was attending me because Dr Howell was not around on a Friday night, they changed my doctor and a doctor who was not from the practice and who hardly communicated with me delivered my baby. He performed an episiotomy which seemed unnecessary. In my opinion, this hospitalist (or independent contractor of the hospital), just wanted to seepd up the process. So they seem to be ok for routine care but neither Harris Southwest nor the practice handled my delivery well. In addition, none of the doctors from the practice visited me until the second day in the hospital even though I did not have a good experience.
The nurse was really nice and I felt she went out of her way to accommodate. My issue is with the billing department. There is a financial impact on me and my family that could have easily been avoided if they would have just honored my request or have been clear with me. I was about to switch health insurance, and had a conversation with them asking them to wait to do any services until the new coverage started. They assured me they had called insurance I had at the time and the services were 100% covered. Later I got billed for $428 from their office. So, I called the insurance company to see what had happened. The insurance company said the invoice had been coded wrong. My insurance called Women's Health Medical Group to try and get it resolved but said a person (I don't feel comfortable mentioning the name) in their billing department refused to change or reissue the invoice. I called Women's Health Medical Group to find out what happened but they were short with me and I felt like they thought I was being unreasonable to ask for help resolving the issue. I feel like my request was not heard. I feel like just "another body". Now it has been 5 months and I received another bill for $392 from the lab. That makes the total $820 for services that would have been covered. If they would have been clear with me that there was a chance it would not be covered, I would have waited.
