I will return again for sure. They close at dusk and if your left, you have to call fwpd to come get you. Also bring your best lens for bird photos. The walk is never too far.
A wonderful oasis for a rather easy hike. Multiple trails and lots of native plants and animals. I saw 2 deer and a variety of birds. A good place for bird watching, especially egrets, ducks, etc, is a trail along the river.
Loved it. The trails were majority cool and breezy. There were tons of animals running in the forest. We saw deer, armadillo, birds, bison, insects, and lizards. The deer were just sitting on the edge of the forest and we were standing there not 10 ft from them. They were running and playing. The armadillos werent scared either. You could walk right up to it and watch it rooting around for insects...Nice place. Will be back asap!
Great hiking trails and lots of wildlife. Greer Island and the scenic overlook behind the visitor's center are a must-see! Can't wait to come explore some more! Hiking across a 180M year old clam bed was pretty awesome too! There could have been more watering stations but not a big issue.
What a beautiful place in the middle of Fort Worth! If you feel the need to get out into nature...you can do so right in the middle of the city! Fantastic place to take kids and just get away from social media, technology (don't worry you still get cell signal), and TV. My only qualm with the place is they only give discounts to active/retired military. What about those that were medically discharged when harmed during active duty?
One of the most beautiful parks I've been to! The trails take you through some of the best wilderness and aren't too challenging for the casual hiker. You'll notice how well maintained it all is. The staff works hard to keep everything pristine and I'm yet to meet an unfriendly employee. I consider this place my refuge and I'm sure you'll enjoy it just as much!
