We drove to this place (about 45 mins) with a packed cool bag with iced drinks, a bag to take away our trash, snacks, water for the dog (and poop bags, her dinner, leash)...
And there's a sign as you arrive specifically to tell you your dog is not welcome. The reason given is to protect the wildlife. It's really clear that they will prosecute/fine anyone who does bring their dog. Leashed is not an option.
What's up with allowing responsible dog owners from enjoying this space?
I really do not understand how a leashed dog is a problem for wildlife. A leashed dog is surely no less disturbing than people walking and hiking through the area. Not just individuals but some in reasonable group sizes too.
Trails are just what the body needed, good workout. Nice scenery.
Love it here. So peaceful
Sad that this is such a nice park but no leashed dogs are allowed...what's up with that?
What's up with allowing responsible dog owners from enjoying this space? Strange.
Did some trail running here and loved it. There are different trails with different lengths so you can customize your adventure. There's decent elevation changes along with some rocky terrain. Also the wildlife is wonderful. I saw an armadillo, deer, rabbit, and a snake. Apparently there's also coyote and bald eagles here.
