There's a small museum, but the main hangar is more like a restoration shop. A number of historic warplanes are in the process of being restored and you can see exactly how much mess and labor it really takes to keep these aircraft running. The volunteers are very knowledgeable and seem eager to talk about the airplanes and their work there.
Excellent working museum. The inside museum part is very nice and the cost is reasonable. When you're done touring the inside, you enter the hangar space. They have several airplanes on static display, but also house a few flying airplanes as well, focusing on the WWII time-frame. It was really neat to see them actually working on airplanes (especially the engines on workstands).
I love going to this museum. The permanent collection is lovely and always nice to look at. The traveling collections are always awesome. The museum has programs/activities available during the summer for kids and adults. The best part about the museum is that it is free to the community to experience all types of art and subjects
every time I take the kids we see something new... Support their great works.
I love this place. It is a "working" museum so many the planes are being worked on while you visit. It holds many rare WWII aircraft. The owner, Chuckie, is amazing. She loves her museum and it shows. It is well worth your time.
