The food for brunch was amazing!!
The bird cafe has great food and ambiance, but it is not for picky eaters. The menu is a bit more eclectic than most restaurants. For example, you may find dishes with bone marrow. The upstairs is fabulous with all of the original crown molding and a vintage fireplace mantel. All in all, the place could use a good scrub-down, especially the bathrooms. I still love to go here for brunch or cocktails.
Good variety and great quality. We all enjoyed our food. The Rabbit Pot Pie was fantastic.
Love The Bird Cafe! the One-Eyed Jack sandwich is awesome so is their Rabbit Pot Pie are 2 of my favorites so are the white wine muscles! Every time i'm meeting a friend for a work day lunch Bird Cafe is always on the top of my list: from the picky eaters, to the health nuts everyone has enjoyed it! plus the location is perfect for walking from the office. Service is great, and you get an upscale vibe though the prices are reasonable
Be sure to your friends and split the bill - this isn't your standard restaurant. Nearly the entire menu is based on "share plates" - appetizer sized portions of out-there food (bone marrow is an option) made to be ordered with multiple selections to share with your dinner party. Definitely a cool concept and a good choice for a special occasion. The atmosphere is also lovely with a vintage vibe and the patio seating overlooks Sundance Square.
But our server not so much. She seemed annoyed when we asked about a dish and did not want to explain it. She never refilled our water glasses. Three of the glasses were empty and she never even came around for us to ask her for refills! It took forever for her to give us the check but she had not problem picking it up after we signed it. She left the dirty dishes on the table but picked up the check while we were still talking at the table. I should also mention the restaurant was pretty empty during brunch so no one was waiting for a table!
