I like it because the staff is nice, close to home, and 24 hours... It would be nice if they upgraded...
I will say that the staff is friendly and the gym is clean.
I mostly use the cardio machines, free weights, cables, and f requenlty there is an issue with something...
It's a gym... large and a little older... the machines are a little worn ... I am glad the finally upgraded and rebuilt the sauna..
The entire pool area smells like they never clean it. The employees are friendly but all the people who go here generally give me dirty looks, stare, are rude, and make me feel uncomfortable. Some just blast their music when I'm trying to peacefully relax after a workout. I have only been here a few times because I always dreaded the experience but I paid for a year of it. Now I would like to cancel and I have to go up there to do it at a time of their convenience? I sure signed up easily from the comfort of my own home but it's not easy to cancel by any means. I'd rather work out at home than go through this ever again.
Been coming here for about 5 years, and the equipment is severely worn out. It's frustrating to move from machine to machine, trying to find one that works properly. For example, you'll be halfway through a cardio routine, and the machine will just randomly reset itself. Or they squeak so loud you can hear it through your headphones. I'm probably going to find somewhere else, since they apparently don't care to invest in some upgrades.
I have had a membership with 24 Hour Fitness for awhile now. Because of a move/job change I put a hold on my account for $10 a month. When I made this agreement I was told it would be for as long as I needed with no expiration. At the 6 month mark my account was reactivated without my knowledge and I was charged the regular fees. I was then charged the annual renewal fees ( I realize I would have been charged this either way) and again another month of active fees. They claim a conformation email was sent to me 6 months ago but I never received that conformation and would NOT have agreed to only a 6 month hold or a renewal without my knowledge. I spoke to the manager today who told me nothing would be done about this. I loved 24 Hour Fitness hence the reason I was willing to pay $10 a month to keep a membership without even going. I'm willing to pay the annual fees and the two months of unused membership but I am completely disappointed in how everything was handled. The manager offered no sympathies or even an "I'm sorry" about the whole situation and basically told me I'm SOL. I would have kept my membership on hold for a few more months till I was able to make it back. But there is no way I am keeping it now. I will never use 24 Hour Fitness again.
Very, very poor communication and poor management. No customer service skills from management, regular staff always seemed helpful and friendly. I will NEVER have a member ship with 24 Hour Fitness again.
Decent range of equipment. Good Olympic lifting pads, good assortment of free weights. Most of the treadmills are broken, though. Good thing there’s a high percentage of dudes curling weights to get useless big arms. Probably a good place to look if you are trying to score steroids.
