What can I say about this place? I'm 60, and I've been coming to Angelo's since I was 5 or 6. Yes, some things have changed. They expanded the dining room. They added flat-screen TVs and macaroni and cheese. They outlawed smoking. But, the important things have always remained the same: the ribs (sublime), the brisket, the ice-cold beer in frosty mugs, the ambience. Angelo's is the real deal, folks. One thing is certain: You had better get there early or they will run out of ribs. They even have a lighted sign that says, "Sorry, out of ribs." And this was around 7 p.m. Don't say I didn't warn you.
Good, smoky beef and decent spicy sausage, but not the best BBQ I have had by a long shot. My side of green beans was also somewhat lackluster. On the plus side, the people are friendly and the price and atmosphere just right for a casual BBQ spot.
Brisket was very smokey tasting bordering on maybe too much. The bad part...it was dry. Was really looking forward to finding some excellent Texas brisket, but unfortunately I was a little let down here. This place was recommended to me.
Was volunteering at the Tarrant Area food bank right up the road and I didn't want to go far to eat. I am happy that it is walking distance. First time being here and the pulled pork tacos are on point. Friendly welcome from staff, very engaging. I love the comfortable vibe here, it makes me feel like I've been coming here for years. I will definitely be coming back again. Ever wonder why people say never judge a book by it's cover? Apply that to this place!
This place takes me back to the 70’s; with its wood paneling and old vibe. For some reason this place makes me want to listen to Fleetwood Mack....anyhow the BBQ is good. I usually get the ribs; very consistent and fresh.
